The Chocolate Block Western Cape Red Blend - 750 Ml
Marc Kent is the owner, chief winemaker, and driving force behind The Chocolate Block, which has been nicknamed “The Wine With Secrets to Keep” and is produced under the Boekenhoutskloof label. The Chocolate Block reflects Marc’s belief that the Cape, with its Mediterranean climate, is exceptionally suited to blended reds. Source from the Swartland, the makeup of the wine is tweaked from vintage to vintage to best reflect the season and the ancient vines of great character that are an integral part of the wine’s charm and personality. Syrah remains the backbone every year, with Grenache Noir lending a delicate fruitiness and finesse, Cinsault giving floral and ripe strawberry notes, and Cabernet Sauvignon contributing good tannic grip and structure in the blend.
