Cooking Instructions: For food safety and quality, follow these cooking instructions. Cook thoroughly to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F or higher as measured by a food thermometer in the thickest portion. Since cooking appliances vary, these instructions are guidelines only. Simmer: Remove meat from package. Place meat in a pot and cover with water. Add contents of spice packet, if desired (the corned beef is already fully seasoned). Cover pot and bring to boil, then reduce to a simmer. Simmer until fork tender, about 50 minutes per pound. Cook to a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees F, measured with a thermometer in the thickest part. When desired tenderness is reached, take out of pot and let cool 20-30 minutes before slicing and serving. Bake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove meat from package. Place meat on a rack in a baking pan fat side up. Add about 1 in of water to the pan. Cover with contents of spice packet if desired (this corned beef is already fully seasoned). Cover tightly with a lid or foil. Bake until fork tender, about 50 minutes per pound. Cook to a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees F, measured with a thermometer in the thickest part. When desired tenderness is reached, remove corned beef from oven and allow to cool 20-30 minutes before slicing or serving.
